Rest in Peace, George.
I spent nearly all of my high school years listening to the Beatles. They were what was in my head before David Bowie (and at 13, I can assure you, there wasn't much else).
I'll miss George's dignity in the face of all the Beatles madness, and his insistence on paying attention to the meaningful things in life.

It is also nice, but not obligatory, for them to plan a girlishly informal gathering — a luncheon or a shower — for her beforehand.
Misread this as "grisly informal gathering."
That's too much vampire fiction and 'From Hell" for me.

Perhaps this explains some of the communication gap between my parents and I about work.
Or maybe I am just lazy and uncommitted. [disclaimer: it would be wrong to suggest that my parents would actually say that. hey haven't, but their attitudes to work make ME feel lazy]

Apparently the Feds locked up Italians during World War II as well as the Japanese...
(and they put them in camps in Missoula, MT, right next to where my father's parents lived in Stevensville. My mother's parents were Italian immigrants, actually . . .)
