Ummm, actually that is not true.  There is currently no way to trap
elements of a Web page using Java.  That is, using JS you can trap 
someone clicking on the SUBMIT button and validate the contents of
all the fields in the current form. 

This cannot be achieved by Java since the submit button of a form falls
outside the scope of a embedded applet.
